Once more, students and teachers of 7th grade of the 5th General High School of Egaleo had the opportunity to attend a seminar on first aid at the school’s amphitheater on Thursday April 6th.
Students and Teachers of 3rd Evening School of Agioi Anargiroi had the opportunity to attend a different and most interesting lesson .
With the guidance of assistant trainer and General Secretary of EPOMEA, Mr Stylianos Sylaidis, the attendees were guided through basic actions that anyone must know for the provision of First Aid .
Mr Pervelis Panagiotis, Officer of Hellenic Air Force guided EPOMEA's newest volunteer recruits through the basic knowledge of water rescue.
He explained in detail how to handle an emergency situation, the way to approach a victim as well as the actions that must be performed before and after rescuing procedures.
On Saturday 04/01/2017 at the premises of EP.OM.E.A. Egaleo an educational seminar was held on Basic Life Support with the use of an automatic external defibrillator (BLS / AED).
The seminar included mainly practical exercises from experienced and certified trainers of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
At the end of the seminar, an examination was held, in accordance with European standards as defined by the ERC and the laureates received their certifications.
Our newest recruits had their first aquaintance with the tools and components of a fire engine during yesteday's class.
Presented by three men for the fire service of the 2nd Fire Station, Municipality of Athens, volunteers were educated on
the uses and the function of basic firefighting equipment.
Our volunteer's training will continue at the Fire Fighting Academy where, in a few days, the 2017 educational program will
open, on the subjects of Forest preservation and Wildfire suppression.
Continuation of theoretical lessons in Rope and Mountain Rescue department, where trainees. with the help of older members and direction from trainers Mr. Kasiotis Vasilios and Mr. Kominakis Dimitrios, became familiar with basic knot tying techniques and their functions. The lesson honored with his presence the Water Rescue department trainer, Mr. Troianos Spyros.Read more
A theoretical lesson was held by Mr. Polichronis Konstantinos of the Meteorology department – EPOMEA Paianias and administrator of http://www.xalazi.gr/ on Thursday 15/3/2017 for the 5th recruit group of Volunteers, who were taught about the several types of clouds and how to forecast the weather based on this knowledge.Read more
Firefighting Academy training certificates were awarded to EPOMEA Volunteers who successfully attended the training program of the Firefighting Academy in the subjects of forest protection and wildfire prevention for the year 2016. The courses, both theoretical and practical lasted 52 hours and were performed under the training program for Voluntary organizations registered in the General Secretariat for Civil Protection. The nomination was performed by Mr. Kranis Haralampos, professor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, during the break of the Geology course given for our volunteers.Read more
An educational lecture with Mr. Kranis Charalampos, Professor of National and Capodistrian University of Athens took place today in our team's offices.
Mr. Kranis gave an analytical yet comprehensible lecture on the subject of earthquakes by describing the causes of the natural phenomenon, how it affects civilians and how to personally and socially cope with a humanitarian crisis caused by seismic activity.
Weather, meteorological parameters, wind meters, air masses, barometric pressure, prognostic maps and meteograms were some of the terms explained in a unique way by meteorologist Mr. Tasos Arniakos in today's class fot EPOMEA Egaleo volunteers.

Our newest members were introduced to mountain gear and its function in their latest class. The volunteers had the opportunity to see the equipment in practice with the support of their trainer and President of EPOMEA Egaleo , Mr Roumeliotis George.Read more
Rescue training continues with unabated rate for the newest Volunteers in the context of an educational program focused on safe immobilization and transportation of a victim. In their latest class, the volunteers were introduced to a Sked type Rescue Stretcher.
Meanwhile, both Medical team and Mountain Rope Rescue Departments continued their training, in theoretical and practical level.
