Activity "Clean Ocean - Contributing to a more sustainable future!"
Under the slogan "Clean Ocean - We contribute to a more sustainable future!" the volunteers of EP.OM.EA. were "present" on October 8 & 9 at the 1st beach of Voula, participating in the environmental action, during which the seabed was cleaned of useless vehicle tires, located near the island of Hydrousa (Katramonissi) at a short distance from the beach of Voula.
The tires, raised from the seabed, came out of the sea and placed on the pontoon (floating platform) provided by the new Vouliagmeni Marina, to be transported to the beach, cleaned of sand, objects or living organisms, that had adhered during the time they remained underwater and then taken via a contracted ECOELASTIKA collector-transporter to utilization units for their proper management.
The activity was organized by XTERRA Greece – TRIMORE Sport Events, a sports and entertainment events company, with the active cooperation of ECOELASTIKA and the Municipality of Vari-Voulas-Vouliagmenis.
EP.OM.EA. was happy to participate on this project, with volunteers, a group of certified divers and two (2) boats, with the common goal of protecting the environment and raising environmental awareness for a sustainable future!
