Mr. Kerpelis is a well respected, certificated graduate Engineer of NTUA and OASP (Organization for Earthquake planning and Protection), MSc, MPS in preventing and management of Natural Disasters and Directorate Head of Social Seismic Protection. Mr.Kerpelis raised awareness on crucial subjects such as Emergency Planning, pre-earthquake and aftershocks.

Read moreOn Monday 30/1/2017 EPOMEA Egaleo had the pleasure to host the members of Cyprus Team CCPVC and have them give a presentation on technical Search and Rescue.The lecture began with Mr. Marinos who talked about INSARAG (International Search and Rescue Advisory Guidelines) and more specifically on identifying a void after collaption of buildings as a result of earthquake activity, about marking signs and their meaning.
Mr Ilias followed with collapse types and the immediate actions that must be taken after an earthquake such as victim rescue, management of victim's relatives, intervention of rescue teams.
Mr. Kokolakis Konstantinos gave an excellent presentation on the subject of "Civil Protection and Volunteer Rescuers", where he made a thorough analysis on natural disasters giving emphasis on the subject of earthquakes. Although the lecture was quite extensive, Mr Kokolakis had the full attention of his audience since his teaching methods are interactive and offer great pleasure in education.

In this first unit, volunteers were introduced to fractures, sprains and strains, types and categories of the above as well as to what extent can a volunteer rescuer offer his services.
We would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Zisis who has voluntarily supported us for the sixth year in a row and offers his knowledge on orthopedic trauma to every new recruit group.
On Monday 23-01-2017, at 19:45, our volunteers will have the opportunity to attend a lesson given by Dr Nikolaos Zisis, Orthopedics Surgeon. On Wednesday 25-01-2017 at 19:45, a lecture will be given by the former Chief of Decentralized Administration of Civil Protection, Macedonia and Thrace.
