On Saturday 04/01/2017 at the premises of EP.OM.E.A. Egaleo an educational seminar was held on Basic Life Support with the use of an automatic external defibrillator (BLS / AED).
The seminar included mainly practical exercises from experienced and certified trainers of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
At the end of the seminar, an examination was held, in accordance with European standards as defined by the ERC and the laureates received their certifications.
For the 32nd year, the Cultural, Athletic and Youth Organization of Municipality of Nea Ionia in collaboration with “ANATOLI” Sports Club and Naturalist Group of Nea Ionia, organized a running race in honor of the 22 executed heroes at the Kalogreza block on March of 1944 during WWII. EPOMEA Egaleo contributed by offering first aid and medical care to athletes with the participation of ten volunteers.

EPOMEA Egaleo undertook the responsibility for the provision of first aid for the ESKA cup with the participation of eight volunteers in “Stavros Venetis” gymnasium. Highlight for EPOMEA Volunteers in yesterday’s match was the awarding of the team from the president of the Athletic Association of Egaleo Mr. Marios Hatzipanagiotis, for their presence and contribution in all matches performed in the home stadium. The award was given to Vice President of EPOMEA Egaleo Mr. Lahanas Konstantinos.

Our newest recruits had their first aquaintance with the tools and components of a fire engine during yesteday's class.
Presented by three men for the fire service of the 2nd Fire Station, Municipality of Athens, volunteers were educated on
the uses and the function of basic firefighting equipment.
Our volunteer's training will continue at the Fire Fighting Academy where, in a few days, the 2017 educational program will
open, on the subjects of Forest preservation and Wildfire suppression.
EPOMEA Egaleo has taken up the responsibility of providing first aid to athletes and fans during the tournament of Athletic Association of Egaleo for the 1st Men category.
The volunteers excel in their training and are always prepared to face any difficulty with a fully equiped first aid kit.
Yesterday's match was held between A.A. of Egaleo and G.A. of Ilioupoli.
Continuation of theoretical lessons in Rope and Mountain Rescue department, where trainees. with the help of older members and direction from trainers Mr. Kasiotis Vasilios and Mr. Kominakis Dimitrios, became familiar with basic knot tying techniques and their functions. The lesson honored with his presence the Water Rescue department trainer, Mr. Troianos Spyros.

Attica On Sunday 12th of March, “JuniorXpert” mountain bike race took place for the 2nd time in the region of Gerakas. The race was organized by SIFAGE sports club in collaboration with Bike Expert and with the contribution of Municipality of Pallini and the Greek Cyclist’s Federation. EPOMEA Egaleo provided first aid for observers and athletes and participated in the awards nomination.

Firefighting Academy training certificates were awarded to EPOMEA Volunteers who successfully attended the training program of the Firefighting Academy in the subjects of forest protection and wildfire prevention for the year 2016. The courses, both theoretical and practical lasted 52 hours and were performed under the training program for Voluntary organizations registered in the General Secretariat for Civil Protection. The nomination was performed by Mr. Kranis Haralampos, professor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, during the break of the Geology course given for our volunteers.

An educational lecture with Mr. Kranis Charalampos, Professor of National and Capodistrian University of Athens took place today in our team's offices.
Mr. Kranis gave an analytical yet comprehensible lecture on the subject of earthquakes by describing the causes of the natural phenomenon, how it affects civilians and how to personally and socially cope with a humanitarian crisis caused by seismic activity.
On Monday 13/3/2017 Mr Kranis Haralampos, Lecturer of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Geology and Geoenviromment will give a lecture on basic principles of Geology and seismic activity.

The first PADI diving identifications were delivered to EPOMEA Volunteers who successfully concluded their diving school training.
The educational program included a series of theoretical and practical classes in both pool and sea waters.
The nomination was performed during the break of Meteorology class given by Mr Anastasios Arniakos.
Weather, meteorological parameters, wind meters, air masses, barometric pressure, prognostic maps and meteograms were some of the terms explained in a unique way by meteorologist Mr. Tasos Arniakos in today's class fot EPOMEA Egaleo volunteers.
